So you're thinking about joining "Good in the Hood"?
Well here's six reasons why you should:

1. True service- No Good in the Hood officers, members, or volunteers are paid. All proceeds donated to Good in the Hood will go towards service projects and providing for the poor.

2. A personal touch- We aim to truly build relationships with those we try to help, not just perform a needed task then be on our way. Friendship is often the most effective form of service.

3. A real difference- A coat for the winter, a weeded garden, a plate of cookies, a phone call, or a knock on a door are all small acts that can make a big difference in life. Both for the person delivering the cookies and the person receiving them.

4. United Diversity- We also want to bring separate groups of people with different backgrounds together for one common goal; to help others. Not only building relationships with whom we serve, but also the people we serve with.

5. Perspective- Service is a great reminder about what is most important in the busy lives we live.

6. Happiness- Who does not want to be happy? Honest Abe was right. Good brings good and bad brings bad. Whatever your beliefs are we should all be able to agree on one thing service brings the spirit of happiness.

7. Fun- No joke, we have fun! Who doesn't enjoy a party that's for a good cause. Also we believe in multi-tasking, like hanging out with friends and raking leaves all at the same time. It is fun to help others.
